Session length depends on the size, placement and complexity of your tattoo. Small pieces may take less than an hour, while larger custom projects may require several hours or multiple sessions.

Aftercare✦

Tattoo aftercare

Take care of your new art — healing is half the result.

Keep the initial bandage on for the time I tell you at your appointment.
Wash your hands before touching the tattoo — always.
Wash gently with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap, using only your fingertips.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Never rub, never use a cloth towel.
Apply a very thin layer of the ointment I recommend — the skin needs to breathe.

Wash and moisturize 2 to 3 times a day with clean hands.
Peeling and light flaking are normal — let it happen naturally.
Do not scratch, pick or peel the skin, even if it itches.
Wear loose, clean clothing over the area.
Sleep on clean sheets and avoid pressing the tattoo.

Sunscreen SPF 50 on the tattoo, forever — sun is the number one cause of fading.
Keep the skin hydrated daily with a fragrance-free lotion.
Colour and watercolour pieces may need a touch-up over time — that is normal.
Stay hydrated and take care of your skin in general; healthy skin keeps ink sharp.

No pools, hot tubs, lakes, ocean or long baths for at least 2–3 weeks.
No direct sun or tanning beds while it is healing.
No gym, heavy sweating or contact sport for the first few days.
No petroleum jelly, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or scented products.
No pets sleeping on or licking the fresh tattoo.
